Monday morning.....
Well, it's Monday again. I finally took pictures of the motorcycle bag that I made for Todd to carry the small cooler for his lunch and extra clothes to and from work. The good thing was that I bought a cushion cover from Ikea at the "Scratch and Dent" department that only cost $8. So it had a long zipper for me to use.
Here's the front:

Inside - the pockets are for his cell phone, wallet and glasses.
I was pretty proud of how it turned out.
Update on McKenna - still not here :(

Weekend sewing project
I have another purse that I've completed. I'm not positive, but I think this one may go to our oldest daughter. I gave the small red and black heart fabric purse to #3, with the stipulation that if anyone tells her they like her purse, she has to give them my business card that references my etsy shop.
This latest one is black with black and white plaid as accent. It also has pockets all around the inside. Here are the pictures:
First side - large pocket with velcro closure
Next side with button closure
Inside - pockets and d-ring
Purse with matching make up bag

Sewing is something I LOVE
thus, I spend a lot of time doing it. It's my way to diet - it keeps me occupied so I don't eat!!! LOL My husband and I are working on getting out of debt thanks to Dave Ramsey, so I've set up a shop where people can purchase the item's I've sewn. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5902297
I've also sewn some things for friends and family that are not listed on my etsy shop. Here are some pictures.
This was made for one of our clients at work. She is an elderly German lady who always brings me small gifts. She most recently went on a trip to California and brought me something back, so I decided to make her a tote bag with matching cosmetic bag.
This is the second purse I made out of this fabric. The first one is listed on my etsy shop because it was too small. This one is a little bigger, and I also made matching cosmetic bag, coin purse and phone accessories.
For each granchild, I like to sew things. These are what I've made for McKenna:

My first public blog entry
Since this is my first public blog entry, let me give a little history - I was born and raised on a small farm in Nebraska. Lived in Nebraska until 1998, when we moved our new family to Texas. It's hard to believe my life so far can be summed up in two sentences, but a lot was left out. The highlights that were missed were: I am the proud mother of four daughters (two are step-daughters, but I love them like they are my own, so I call them all my daughters) and the very proud grandmother of three (almost four, our next granddaughter is due any day). I am married to my "Mr. Wonderful", who I met in 1997 and married in 1998. So this year we celebrated our TEN year anniversary. (Not bad considering this is the third marriage for each of us.) This is our wedding picture.
We LOVE the Texas weather, but do miss all of our family that is still there. Holidays are not the same when you are far from family, but it does make when you see them a little more special.
Here is a view out of our kitchen window - we have lots of deer in our neighborhood.
